USA Border Crossings
The majority of cross border travelers choose to enter Canada via the Peace Arch crossing via I-5. However, the Sumas/Abbotsford or Aldergrove/Lynden border crossings are considerably closer to Hope and although smaller, usually less congested with minimal time delays. Leave I-5 at the Meridian Exit 256 in Bellingham and travel approximately 32.2km/20mi north to the Canadian border.

Hope, Cascades & Canyons has service to and from Hope from BC Transit (Route 22 Hope) and E-Bus.

International Airports
Another convenience of the location of Hope is its proximity to several International Airports. In fact there are four of them within driving distance of the town. Abbotsford International Airport is the nearest at only 90km away. It is the second largest airport in the Lower Mainland, and offers a variety of direct flights to destinations all over Canada and outside of the country as well. Many tourists and business travellers prefer this airport as it is easily accessible from Highway 1 and traffic is minimal in comparison to the city.
A little further away (170km), is the Vancouver International Airport. YVR is Canada’s second busiest airport, connecting passengers to over 118 non-stop destinations. Another nearby option for International travel is the Bellingham International Airport which is just south of the border, 130 kms away. Although Kelowna International YLW is 260km away, it provides a convenient flight schedule, is serviced by three major airlines and is also an easily accessible transportation hub.
FVRD Regional Airpark
Hope Aerodrome YHE is located 2.6 nautical miles west of downtown within the municipal District. Hope Regional Airpark boasts one of the best turf runways in the world. It’s unique grass strip services only small, privately owned aircraft.The airfield is home to the Vancouver Soaring Association, a gliding club owning and operating seven school and recreational sailplanes and two Cessna L-19 Bird Dog as tow planes.
