Embracing the Lifestyle
Working or owning a business in a mountain town has its advantages. Your optimum work to life balance is a whole lot more achievable without traffic jams and an average commute of ten minutes. Productivity is maximized whether you are a virtual commuter working from home, a professional in the community, or an entrepreneur operating your own business. The dramatic beauty of the town inspires creativity and the small-town vibe allows you to build meaningful relationships with your neighbors and clients.
Building legacies and friendships is second nature to an amazing cohort of service clubs and volunteers that work together to bring this town to life. Meeting people with similar interests is easy through Hope’s many social clubs and events. Whether it be on a hiking trail with the Hope Outdoor Group, grilling up burgers with the Hope Lions Club, or watching the stock car races with the Hope Motorsports Group, there is something for everyone!
Safe neighborhoods and small class sizes at the neighbourhood schools, just for starters, make this community a young family’s ideal place to raise children! In addition to that, there are many recreational opportunities available; such as a multipurpose Recreational Facility, two swimming-friendly lakes within 3km of town centre, and a third one a short drive away. There is also a skate park, a mountain bike skills park, and Manning Park Resort, hailed as the epitome of an accessible four-season resort, is only a 45 minute drive away. If artistic pursuits are more to your liking, Hope & District Arts Council operates the Art Machine, a thriving arts studio offering a variety of weekly art classes that include drawing, collage, painting, pottery, crafts and more!
Hope is a retirement paradise, housing all of the amenities that you will need to enjoy your golden years. The community is accessible and pedestrian friendly, with several social clubs and activities for active seniors. There are senior housing options ranging from independent living, to assisted living, and long-term residential care. For those living at home there are support services available through Better At Home and We Care. The Recreation Complex offers several fitness classes designed for seniors, including aqua-fit, weightlifting and yoga. In addition, Hope Community Services provides a variety of seniors’ social programming throughout the year.
Healthcare resources in the area include multiple medical offices, dental clinics, chiropractic facilities and massage therapy. The community Hospital provides emergency services and a blood and X-Ray Lab. Care transit volunteer drivers are available to transport seniors to specialist appointments in nearby Chilliwack.
