Childcare & Education in Hope
Ready For New Families
Safe neighborhoods and small class sizes at the neighbourhood schools, just for starters, make this community a young family’s ideal place to raise children! In addition to that, there are many recreational opportunities available; such as a multipurpose Recreational Facility, two swimming-friendly lakes within 3km of town centre, and a third one a short drive away. There is also a skate park, a mountain bike skills park, and Manning Park Resort, hailed as the epitome of an accessible four-season resort, is only a 45 minute drive away. If artistic pursuits are more to your liking, Hope & District Arts Council operates the Art Machine, a thriving arts studio offering a variety of weekly art classes that include drawing, collage, painting, pottery, crafts and more!
Daycare & Preschool
Our diverse community is home for many active families requiring childcare services. Finding a caring experienced provider is top priority when selecting a location to support your childcare needs. You will find multiple options for daycares and preschool programs listed in our Business Directory or by utilizing our online Business Listing Tool. Many of our childcare providers understand the importance of an outdoor learning component so they take advantage of the wonderful area we call home. The fundamentals of care are critical at these transitional moments in life and our community is prepared to help you move forward in your family journey.
Strong Start Program
The Strong Start Program held at Coquihalla Elementary School is for young children (aged birth to five), accompanied by a parent or caregiver. The program operates daily through-out the school year. At no cost to families, participants are welcome to drop-in at any time.
Qualified early childhood educators lead learning activities, including stories, music and art to help children get ready for success in kindergarten. Parents and caregivers attending StrongStart BC programs can expect to participate in organized sessions like story time, in play activities, and in serving a healthy snack. Parents and caregivers are likely to discover new ways to support their children’s learning at home, and may make valuable connections with others attending the program.
